I love taking a drive out here even if it's just for a quick drink.
Good atmosphere, friendly staff, good food. Not one of these gastro pubs. A lovely place to call in when walking in the hills. Always made to feel welcome and a dog friendly pub.
Before eating we walked up to the ridge opposite. What a view! Warm welcome on arrival makes all the difference. Out the way table for two and ordered Sunday lunch. Pork was delicious and the Sirloin beef succulent. Followed by Apple and raspberry pie with two scoops of rum and raisan - what a combo. With two drinks we spent over 50 for Sunday lunch - Worth the spend and definitely going back.
We stayed for a family wedding .. they had their reception there. The food was fabulous.. very attentive staff. The view was stunning with autumn colours. Rooms are beautiful, cozy with everything you could possibly need .. tea making facilities.. iron, hairdryer, cotton wool the works x Highly recommended x
Popped in for a pint on my way home just before 2pm. Gorgeous day with customers enjoying their food and drinks at the tables in front of pub.Had an excellent pint of Rebellion Smuggler in the bar, but thought how joyless the place was.A customer who was eating at the next table was not happy with her food but a member of the staff was doing her best to sort the problem out. Worth a visit.
